When our mind is untrained and uncontrolled, our thoughts jump from one thing to the next, never stopping for a moment of peace. Meditation helps train the mind by identifying unhelpful thoughts and habits that end up causing us suffering. By following the Buddha’s teachings, we can learn to let go of negative mind-states and cultivate positive qualities that will lead to happiness and wisdom.
