To mark the
beginning of the Tibetan New Year, Sakya Tharpa Ling will hold a special
extensive Medicine Buddha Puja, Smoke Puja, Green Tara Puja and Mahakala
Puja for 2 days. During these Pujas we will showcase a very precious relic
of the great master Lama Kalsang Gyatso. He was an old monk from Bir
Monastery India and one of the unique idols of great Buddhist monk
practitioners in Tibetan Buddhism.
Smoke Puja (Lha-Sang) and Hanging of the WIND HORSE LUCKY FLAG around the
centre
It’s a powerful prayer that usually provides offering of food and smoke to
all the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Dharma Protectors and Wealth Deities
including all the local deities. This offering helps to boost good energy,
strengthening your inner energy and brings a beautiful vibe around you,
your family, and business activities in the coming year for all sentient
beings.
Medicine Buddha Puja
The Medicine Buddha is a Buddha that cures all illnesses and diseases of
human beings
including the deceased. The Medicine Buddha in particular cures the
sickness of the 3 poisons.
The poisons are desire, anger and ignorance with jealousy that exists
within all of us.
The Medicine Buddha comes in eight different forms and colours, each of
them have 44
major different prayers for all sentient beings.
Therefore this Puja is beneficial for all of us.
Green Tara Puja
Green Tara is regarded as a Mother of all sentient beings and is a Goddess
who has immeasurable power to save all sentient beings from eight and
sixteen different types of great fears of the world including pandemics.
Fears of water, wind, earth and fire.
Fears of all types of animal, and harms of spirits and different diseases
and pandemics etc.
Also remove obstacles of daily life, in the family, work and all other
activities and help the fulfillment of our life’s wishes.
Mahakala Puja
Mahakala puja is for removing all the obstacles in your life, particularly
obstacles in the dharma. Mahakala is a dharma Guardian for all Buddhas,
Bodhisattvas and Dharma Practitioners therefore it will help you in
fulfilling all your wishes and enable you to move smoothly in every
activity.
Offering of Lamp
The Buddha taught in the Tune of Brahma Sutra Clarifying Karma
that offering light brings
you the following benefits:
- You are able to eliminate the darkness of ignorance
- You receive much wealth and enjoyments
- You will quickly achieve enlightenment
This year, Sakya Tharpa Ling will be dedicating pure authentic 50 ghee
Butter Lamps in our shrine (courtesy from one of our devotees) on this
auspicious day. We cordially invite you to join us to
sponsor one of these beautiful lamps. Each lamp is available to be
sponsored at $10 each or any amount as you may wish to donate. Please
provide the name you wish to dedicate the merits to, it will be placed on
the lamp.
