April 15th: Bhante Akaliko – The Importance of Being Wrong

We all make mistakes in life. We feel remorse when we mess up. We feel regret when we hurt others. But most of the time we don’t like to admit we might be wrong. Acknowledging our faults is not always easy, however it is an important opportunity for spiritual growth. Join Bhante Akaliko to discover the Buddha’s advice on learning from our mistakes.

Akaliko Bhikkhu is an Australian monk in the Theravada forest tradition. Bhante Akaliko first encountered Buddhism as a teenager and spent over twenty years practising in different traditions before taking full ordination with Ajahn Brahm as his preceptor. Bhante Akaliko brings the Buddha’s timeless wisdom to today s problems in practical ways, helping people find peace and happiness in their lives. He is a Buddhist Chaplain at the University of Western Sydney and the founder of Rainbodhi LGBTQIA+ Buddhist Community.

He currently resides with his long-term teacher, Bhante Sujato, at Lokanta Vihara, (the Monastery at the End of the World) in Sydney, Australia.

Please check this page regularly for further updates to our guest teacher schedule. Details of talks will be published closer to the scheduled date. Unless listed above, our Spiritual Director, Venerable Tejadhammo, will be teaching each week.
