Event Details
We warmly invite you to Wisdom of Compassion, a series of three modules presenting a complete introduction to the logic of compassion and how to put it into practice every day.
This program offers a thorough presentation of:
1. the view of impermanence and interdependence that underpins our compassion practices,
2. the transformative practice of ‘equalizing self and others’, and
3. a complete tool kit to apply this every day.
These three modules will be held on Tuesday evenings, in person in Melbourne and Sydney, and online.
Module 2 – Free Your Mind With Love
The Buddhist practice of ‘equalizing self and others’ (expressed in giving with great love and taking with great compassion and known as tonglen), is one of the most useful and powerful of all Buddhist practices.
Tonglen is a simple and straightforward practice, which is extremely effective at getting to the heart of our predicament: our excessively self-centred attitude. Tonglen opens you to the truth of the suffering of others; it reveals the loving, expansive radiance of your own nature; and it offers extraordinary power in destroying the self-cherishing which is the root of all our hard-heartedness and all our suffering.
