Meditating with a relaxed body and mind
18 October
Meditating with a relaxed body and mind with Tina Ng
Often people want to meditate for relaxation, but actually relaxation, or calming or stilling the body, is part of the instructions for meditation. Meditating with a relaxed body and mind, the meditator can come to understand the connection between craving or aversion and tension in the body and mind. Relaxing the tension brings about the letting go of craving and aversion, and is part of the transformation of the mind.
Tina Ng founded the Metta Centre, a Buddhist centre to support Buddhism in Western Sydney by providing a space for monastics and lay teachers to share the Buddha’s teachings freely. She is Principal Solicitor of Metta Legal, a law firm encouraging practice through Buddhist principles.
