On 5th January 2023 is the anniversary of the great Sakya Pandita Kunga Gyaltsen’s parinirvana, one of the five main founders of the great Sakya School of Tibetan Buddhist Tradition. Sakya Pandita Kunga Gyaltsen was the first Pandita in the Tibetan tradition.

 

It is with a heavy heart that Sakya Tharpa Ling announces His Eminence Luding Khenchen Dorjechang Rinpoche passing on 28^th December 2022.

To commemorate his passing, Sakya Tharpa Ling will conduct a special offering and guru yoga prayer to dedicate HE Luding Khenchen Dorjechang Rinpoche.

 

To mark both special events, Sakya Tharpa Ling will hold special offering puja, light offerings and prayer recitation from 10:30am until late.

10:30 AM -108 Butter Lamp offerings

11:00 AM -Recitation of remembrance of Triple gems. Heart Sutra, King of Prayers Samantabhadra and Sakya Pandita Prayers

Followed by His Eminence Dungyud Tulku Rinpoche’s speech on Sakya Pandita’s history

Circumambulation around the temple holding incense

1:00 PM -Lunch

2:00 PM– Mahakala Puja by His Eminence Dungyud Tulku Rinpoche that will go on until late night but attendees are allowed to leave anytime.
