In honor of Lhabab Duchen Festival, the Buddhist festival celebrates to observe the descent of Buddha from heaven back to earth, Ven. Sonam Tenzin Rinpoche, Ven. Lama Namsai and Ven.Lama Tenzin from Barom Kagyu Sydney will conduct a practice retreat of Nyungne from Friday, 6th Nov to Monday, 9th Nov 2020
The profound Fasting Practice of Nyungne Retreat is a Tibetan Buddhist practice designed to purify negative karma and accumulate merit and wisdom. It involves in practicing centring on the strict keeping of vows, the generating of the Boddhisattva attitude and the recitation on the sadhana (meditation practice) of the Thousand-Armed Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of compassion. Additional commitments include strict silence and abstinence from intimate contact.

On Lhabab Duchen, the karmic results are multiplied by ten million times. It is part of Tibetan Buddhist tradition to engage in virtuous activities and prayer on this day, celebrating Buddha’s return to the human world and promoting Buddhism.
