Event Details

Join us for a meditation and dharma talk, to be presented tonight by Lenorë Lambert. The title of Lenorë’s talk is The “Me Brochure”: Bringing Insight and Compassion to the Selfing Process.

One of the most slippery concepts in the Buddha’s teachings is the principle of not-self (in Pali, annata). It’s one of three tragic misunderstandings about reality which causes a great deal of reactivity and leads us to make a mess of things for ourselves and others. In this session we’ll get our arms around the concept of annata, we’ll look at how it shows up in our own lives, and discuss a more helpful way to think about our “selves”.

Lenorë is a world champion Masters athlete, former president of Sydney Insight Meditators and dedicated teacher of secular dharma. She currently runs the Beaches Sangha on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

More details about Lenorë and her teachings can be found on the One Mindful Breath website, the home of Wellington’s secular dharma community.
