A short retreat with Patrick Gaffney
Saturday 23 January – Sunday 24 January
This retreat features teachings by Patrick Gaffney on essential practices to help us survive these turbulent times. As part of these teachings, Patrick Gaffney shares vital and precious practice advice from some of the greatest masters of our tradition, including Dudjom Rinpoche, Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche and Sogyal Rinpoche.
Each day of the retreat includes a generous allowance of time to practice, contemplate and discuss the teachings.
About Patrick Gaffney
Patrick Gaffney is a Buddhist teacher, writer and translator who has studied and worked with some of the most renowned Tibetan masters for over 45 years. Patrick was working as an Egyptologist at the British Museum when he first became a student of Tibetan Buddhism. He is the co-editor of The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, and the editor of two books by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. With extensive experience in leading courses and retreats internationally, he is well known for his humour, precision and care in clearly communicating the Buddha’s timeless wisdom.
This is a special retreat under special circumstances.
Current public health restrictions allow us to host 40 people at 158 Australia St Newtown. If you would like to enjoy the inspiration and support of practicing together at the National Centre, we encourage you to book early to secure your place. We will be following our well-established COVID-19 safety plan. Please bring your own mask, mug and drink bottle.
The retreat is open to all Rigpa Sangha members (those who are a member of a Rigpa Mandala) and those who have done at least one year’s study and practice with Rigpa.
You must attend both days. There is no partial attendance.
The event will be streamed for those who are unable to get to the centre. If you aren’t able to join at the centre, we strongly encourage you to meet with other sangha members to watch the teachings and practice together.
Registration at the centre will open between 8:15am and 8:30am on both Saturday 23 January and Sunday 24 January. The practices and teachings will start at 9:00am and finish by 7:00pm AEDT on both days.
