Finding Purpose In Uncertain Times
More than ever, humanity seems to be facing a future of increased uncertainty and instability. We are reminded daily of the escalating threat of climate change, global conflict, health and social challenges, and with the advent of modern technologies, the pace of our lives seems to be speeding up more than ever. So how do we avoid becoming overwhelmed by fear, anxiety and hopelessness? Come along to this important discussion where Rinpoche will shed light on how to live your life with happiness, calmness and purpose, even amidst the greatest of challenges.

$20. All proceeds to the Sakya Temple of Peace project in Canberra.

Workshop 9.00am–1pm. Saturday 16th Mar 2024
Living Fully Each Day by Planning to Die
Discussing death is often considered to be gloomy and taboo, but in Buddhism it is understood that when we deny or reject the truth of impermanence and death we will be inclined to procrastinate, hold grudges and generally fail to extract the fullest potential from our lives. While on the other hand, having an open and accepting attitude towards the inevitability of death and the uncertainty of its timing will become a very powerful catalyst to wake us and become energised to live a life that is truly meaningful. In this workshop it will become evident how Planning to die will awaken the awareness of the Truth of Impermanence in you . Rinpoche will guide this process and provide a list of the important practical, interpersonal and spiritual actions that we may like to consider in order to live a life that is deeply meaningful and fulfilling & at the end to face death with confidence, peace and freedom from regrets. As it is said, “how we live is how we will die.”

$45 / $40 members & concession. Lunch & Morning Tea provided

Workshop 2.00pm – 5.30pm. Saturday 16th Mar 2024
Graceful Exits, Understanding the Process of Dying
In Buddhism the actual dying process has been very well documented and is explained as a process of dissolution of the four elements of earth, water, fire and air. Rather than viewing death as an ending or something to be feared, practitioners see death as the greatest opportunity to awaken to what is known as the Clear Light nature of ones being and to gain freedom from the endless cycles of suffering.
During this afternoons workshop Rinpoche will give detailed instructions on how we can train to go through the dying process with awareness, confidence & grace.

$30 / $25 members & concession.

Teaching 9.00am–5.00pm. Sunday 17th Mar 2024

Four types of mindfulness
Four efforts
