Our World is facing so much uncertainty with fires, floods, and the aftermath of post pandemic COVID and war, the coming together in peace and harmony celebrating our connectedness and inclusivity is a “corner stone” of the rich diversity of our faiths within our City.
The evening is one of celebration and as a prayer giver of your faith, you are invited to share in what every language is most comfortable for you, as well as translation of said prayer if you so choose. You are also invited to wear your faith apparel representing your faith, if you feel comfortable so doing.
Our theme this year is, as explained by Archbiship Desmond Tutu:-
“There is a Zulu proverb called Ubuntu that says: “I am a person through other people. My humanity is tied to yours.”
“One of the sayings in our country is Ubuntu — the essence of being human. Ubuntu speaks particularly about the fact that you can’t exist as a human being in isolation. It speaks about our interconnectedness … We think of ourselves far too frequently as just individuals, separated from one another, whereas you are connected and what you do affects the whole world. When you do well, it spreads out; it is for the whole of humanity.”
