As social beings, much of our time is spent with words. Yet words can heal, or it could hurt. This three-week course gives an introduction to Buddhist practice and its application to the way we communicate with others and with ourselves. We will learn about what hinders our ability to deeply hear and understand others and ourselves; how to wear away those hindrances; how to know and express our needs; and how to use words to heal, rather than to hurt.
We will be exploring through exercises the common problems we experience in relationships relating to communication, and ways to overcome these problems so as to learn how to be more skillful, assertive, considerate and clear in our communication with others.
