Event Details
Full Moon Ceremony give us a chance, on the full moon, to reflect on one of the ten Precepts we take up as Zen Buddhists. We discuss, for example, the Precept of not killing, or not indulging in anger, with members of the sangha. We speak from the heart about our own daily experience with each Precept and listen deeply to the reflections of others. All sharing is confidential.
PRECEPTS FOR CONTEMPLATION:
2020
January 13 & 15: Not Speaking Falsely
March 9 & 11: Not Giving or Taking Drugs
May 4 & 6: Not Discussing Faults of Others
July 6 & 8: Not Praising Yourself While Abusing Others
September 2 & 7: Not Sparing the Dharma Assets
November 2 & 4: Not Indulging in Anger
The Annandale zendo will open on Wednesday 8th July, but numbers are limited. Please email info@szc.org.au if you are well and are interested in coming along. You can still connect with the teachers and the sangha online via Zoom on Mondays and every second Wednesday. Discussions about the precepts, practice and daily life will be integrated into the schedules on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Please go to ‘Meditation‘ for more details.
The Sydney Zen Centre relies on the financial support of its members and visitors. If you are a non-member participating in our on-line meditation program, we request a facility fee of $5 (provided your income makes this affordable). You can pay this direct to our bank account: BSB 062 182 Account number 1013 7103. Please tag the payment with your name and the letters “FF”.
The Board wishes you all a safe time ahead. And in this time of uncertainty we recommend you maintain your practice and remember to breathe and stay connected.
