About the teachers:
*Venerable Jing Yuen*
Venerable Jing Yuen graduated from a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) in 2005 from University of Sydney. Venerable held various committee positions in Unibodhi (University of Sydney Buddhist Society) from 2003 and served as president in 2005. Venerable also served as a co-founding committee member of Mitra Youth Buddhist Network.
Venerable started volunteering with the International Buddhist Cham Shan Temple of Australia, Morisset since 2007 and joined as a committee member since 2008. She currently serves as the president of the committee. Venerable has participated in numerous 7 Day Pureland retreats. Following a 49 day Pureland retreat, Venerable came to the realisation that the benefit of the Dharma far outweighed any achievement in the material world. She understood impermanence and hence decided to renounce the worldly life. She was ordained the following year in 2013 in Cham Shan Temple. Since then she has practiced with the Sangha community in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Venerable has given Buddhist talks at Unibodhi and taught in introductory Buddhist class at Cham Shan Temple.
*Dr Joyce Man*

She is a co-founding committee member of Mitra Youth Buddhist Network and a co-founding committee member of Australasian Association of Buddhist Counsellors and Psychotherapists and current acting president. During her masters degree, she completed her thesis on the efficacy of Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction as a treatment for stress, depression and anxiety. Joyce has co-facilitated Buddhist classes in the past at Cham Shan Temple.
