New Board of Directors elected at AGM

The new board of ditrectors elected at the Annual General Meeting on 10 July includes Brian White (President), Steve Benton (VP External), Tissa Mohotti (Treasurer), Molly Lim, Ranmal Samarawickrama (Secretary), and Lawrence Ong.

Next chaplaincy course

The next training for hospital and prison chaplains is planned to run over two weekends (5 days)  from 31st July (Sat) , 1st Aug (Sun) and 6th Aug to 8th Aug,2010 (Fri to Sun), 9.00am - 4.30pm at our office in Crows Nest.  Email chaplaincy@buddhistcouncil.org.  Download application form.

Buddhist Festival Month

The first Buddhist Festival Month has attracted a lot of attention.  The Mitra conference had 449 paying delegates and 51 guests/sangha and 88% of those surveyed said it was good value.  The Buddhism Expo attracted over 1000 visitors and 95% of those surveyed said the content was good or very good..  The Schools Day on 3 May was attended by 360 high school students and their teachers.  The Buddhist Film Festival sold nearly 600 tickets.
