Sharing the Dhamma (Explaining the fundamentals of Buddhism - made simple)
-
If a colleague or friend were to approach you and ask you about what it means to be a Buddhist, are you able to respond?
-
If your relatives were to ask you why are you a Buddhist, can you answer?
-
If someone were to request that you give them, in a nutshell, the core teachings of the Buddha, are you able to answer?
We are looking for 10-15 individuals who may be interested in learning how to explain and share the Buddha’s wonderful teachings with others without misrepresenting the Dhamma – either in small group sessions or classes.
The Course is intended to help you explain, in simple terms and language, the core Buddhist teachings and give you the confidence to share the Dhamma with others. Eventually we hope that with increased knowledge will come the confidence to become strong practitioners and Dhamma teachers.
The course will be spread over 5 weekly sessions starting from 8th June, 2008. Each session will go from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm and involve a mix of both lectures and group discussions with the course facilitators, Mr. Jim Teoh and Mr. Chien Hoong Gooi.
Following this, there will be continuous mentoring as well as periodical follow-up meetings to exchange information and ideas to extend the scope of knowledge and understanding of the teachings.
