PRISON CHAPLAINCY
To apply, all prison chaplain candidates must undergo a police clearance. Any serious convictions within the past ten years will disqualify the candidate.
The applicant is also required to sign a Prohibited Employment Declaration (which states they are free from any convictions for child molestation, assault or drug offences.) (*Download the appropriate form below)
The candidate will be appointed if he meets the criteria.
Soon after appointment, the chaplain must undergo a Security Awareness Course organised by the Department of Corrective Services and an Orientation Course organised by the CCAC.
These are compulsory for all prison chaplains. Chaplains have a responsibility to keep appointments with inmates and Departmental staff.
