HOSPITAL CHAPLAINCY
Buddhist Hospital Chaplains are appointed by respective hospitals. To apply, an application should firstly be made directly to the resident chaplain or the Hospital Administrator at the respective hospital.
If the hospital supports your appointment as a Hospital Chaplain, you will then require an interview with the Chaplaincy Coordinator of the Buddhist Council of NSW before a recommendation letter is issued.
Please note the following:
1. It is important to ascertain the average number of Buddhist patients treated by the hospital.
2. Due to privacy concerns, patients are not required to register their religion and they must indicate to the hospital their willingness to be visited by a chaplain.
3. NSW Health has provided limited funds only to the Buddhist Council for Hospital Chaplaincy subsidies.
